jimbms
Whatever kinks a person has if they carry this out in the confines of their own home with a partner who is of legal age and fully consents to that activity and so long as it does not involve any other party who cannot be deemed to give full consent, then how can that be seen to be illegal. This is yet another example of the thought police pushing the limits. People who are considered old enough and fit to vote should be allowed to enjoy their own sexual preferences even if it considered over kinky by others. One part of this act says an act that appears to threaten a persons life is illegal, thus most of the action films in high street shops must be illegal. Violent films or pornography do not in themselves cause violence what usualy is the case is that psychotic or disturbed persons seek out these films to fulfil their fantasies which may then lead on to actual acts, when it ceases to satisfy them. To quote the site "Do you ban alcohol just because some people are alcoholics?". What is more likely to happen is that those who commit these crimes may go straight into the act of commiting the crime because there is no other outlet fopr their fantasies, whereas previously a good percentage would have been content to watch the films if available and not progress. So if we are now to criminalise being kinky or devient then half the island may as well move up to Jurby. This is yet anothe example of do gooder bleeding hearts imposing the will of the paranoid minority on the majority. thebees
Given recent events, the girl and her children in the cellar & the childrens home thing In Jersey, I don't see the point of these laws, aside from the obvious political gain/media embellishment. Those events happened many years ago and the porn laws were much harder then. Porn is a bit stupid these days anyway, grown up boys with their mobile phones showing their work mates the latest degrading movies of women/men. I'm not for or against porn, I just wish people would be honest about it. Is it a society thing? I mean the Romans were 'off shagging each other, all over the place, all of the time' you can't get away with that kind of behaviour now - when did that change? Spanking, dressing up as a school girl, doctors and nurses, things like that erm? isn't that like play acting at being a kid, which could be construed as pedophiliac behaviour, why would you want your missus/fella to dress up as a school kid? because the porn industry tells you that is sexy? where does it start/stop? So maybe these laws are kinda good, "Oh I'm sorry darling, much as I really would love to have you hurt me loads and loads and loads, its against the law, so you can't" - I can see how that would work...... Mutley
To quote one of the commenters... "If owning material that contains "An act which threatens or appears to threaten a person's life" becomes illegal, then almost every film I own will be illegal. Even if the violence must be in a sex scene I can think of several mainstream films this would include. Basic instinct and Goldeneye to name two." Surely this is why the BBFC exists? The scene where he gets his balls beaten with a balled rope would be illegal under this law.

feelslikeitshould
So maybe these laws are kinda good, "Oh I'm sorry darling, much as I really would love to have you hurt me loads and loads and loads, its against the law, so you can't" - I can see how that would work...... It's against the law to have porn that shows it, not to actually take part in it. I think it's a pretty crap law, one week you're watching your extreme porn in the comfort of your own home, the next week it's illegal, the neighbours brand you a sicko and you have to sign on to the sex offenders register. You can have so-called kinky sex in the privacy of your own home with consenting adults and it's perfectly legal, however if you decide to film yourself doing said sexual acts then you've broken the law. Madness.
