Theodolite
From Manx Radio website. I have met Pete Geddes only once in connection with his rersearch and work on the Laxey Mines. This is an award well deserved. Here is a thought provoking drawing of the mines from the Laxey Mines Research Group Website. Compare the depth of the mines with the size of the Laxey Wheel! Deejay Denzel
is the man rod the thing that got the miners down to certain levels? My old boss used to go down and do work with them, quite often he would tell me all about it and showed me some areas up behind the wheel that most people wouldn't know about. Fascinating stuff. The Mines research team do a lot of good work, I remember when they came to investigate a well that was found under the shop that was sound choice on Bucks rd, I came across it whilst wiring the place by nearly falling down it under the floor. There is a glass window in the shop floor.
bluemonday
Yes that's it. Very simple and clever at the same time. Pete Geddes is a great guy, was very helpful to me when I was looking at the Bradda mines.

TerryMcCann
Mines are really boring. Oh I don't know about that. I reckon a landmine planted on your doorstep would be quite entertaining
