LMAO

They should put hot apple pie, freshly brewed coffee and a roast turkey on the menu and let the aromas drift through the prison. That'll sort them out. Reality check guys - you're in there as a punishment - your choice to be in there - so follow the rules as you're not a special case. Bear that in mind before your next crime.

"It is understood nicotine craving prisoners have resorted to smoking dried out teabags wrapped in pages of the Bible."

Wow! You've got to admire the initiative - turning that book into something useful!

This makes little sense... If they crave nicotine why would they smoke teabags, which AFAIK contains no nicotine. Wouldn't they be better off joining the NRT plan that's provided for them which does include nicotine? If they still persist in smoking the good book (which I believe is also handy if the Andrex Quilted runs out) they could always take their lighters and matches from them. Now that smoking is banned they should have no need for them.

That assumes a degree of intelligence. Please remember that these are people who were dumb enough to be caught by our (wonderful!) local police.

Is it totally non smoking throughout the whole of the prison, or are they allowed to smoke in the grounds outside when they get to go out?

The ban on smoking in the workplace, introduced at the end of March, was applied to the prison in Victoria Road and its grounds.

You didn't click on the link, did you? :P

Can you smoke teabags?

Teabags for all the year round

On a different note

You increase your chances of lung cancer in the same manner as smoking tobacco. You are introducing small foreign particles into the lung tissue. Just like using tobacco, does it take just 1 use or millions

Ah well. With the cost saving on food they can pay the officers their mileage allowance at no cost to the taxpayer

Bah, beat me to it!

Pity they didn't do this a few years back.....a few starving/starved prisoners would have reduced the prison population meaning we might not have needed to go to the expense of building a new one!
