nipper
A neighbour of mine asked for some details regarding a Manx Registered ship that was involved in a serious incident in Bantry Bay and caused huge expense in rescue fees and ecological damage, back in the 1990s. The Isle of Man Ship Registry apparently destroys the records from "so long ago" There were questions asked in the House of Commons at the time of the incident as the rescue operation was conducted and paid for by the UK Government. There was a question about the matter as recent as December 2005. I can certainly see the advantages of using the Isle of Man to register a ship.
