Are these the 'day trips' that get in at 12 (noon) ish - and return at 13:15 ish.

WOW

some day trip then.

SP drop day trip sailings due to lack of passengers -

not shit Sherlock.

a little research would have told you that :

Douglas to Whitehaven-Departure: 22:00

Expected arrival: 23:30

Whitehaven to Douglas-Departure: 00:15

Expected arrival: 01:45

it's not rocket science

The actual schedule (on SPCo website) was

Whitehaven to Isle of Man Wednesday 18 June

Depart 12.30 Arrive approx. 14.00 Isle of Man to Whitehaven Depart 22.00 Arrive approx. 23.30

This gave people several hours on the Island in the hissing rain yesterday. Those going the other way, to Whitehaven for the day, got several hours more.

I heard that loadings were very poor - lack of advertising across? Couldn't be put down to the weather - the rain didn't start till they arrived here. Hope the next one fares better, don't want these trips cancelled next year through "lack of support".

Someone's just told me that today's sailings to and from Liverpool appear to have been cancelled and transferred to Heysham. I'm due to get the evening boat back from Liverpool tomorrow so I'm a bit concerned - does anyone know what's happened?

some useful info :

to cancel Thursdays round trip to Liverpool. We are dependant on a specialist gearbox engineer from Germany to help us remove the gearbox and he is only available on Thursday. Until it is taken out we cannot repair it. It is far better for everyone to get this fixed sooner rather than later and certainly now while we are in the quiet period between TT and school holidays. This has not in your own words been ‘going on for a couple of years’ it’s the first time this unit has had any problems and we checked it thoroughly last winter.
