Many years ago a close friend found herself in a gutter with her pushbike lying atop her, she was reprimanded by the police and told not to be in charge of a bike again whilst inebriated, to which she replied 'Well, you saw me in the gutter, was I really in charge of the bike?' To which she got an avuncular 'mustn't do that again' from the policeman. Now she would be ASBO'd, put under surveillance and have her Granny taken to Guantanamo.
