Kelvin
I think it's rather telling that MKOne and Au Naturale have upped and gone very quickly, and these are national companies - not local ones. So it's not like they don't have the funds behind them. From what I gather rent is going stupid in Strand Shooping Centre which is why Claire's shifted and MKOne has just gone. MKOne and Au Naturale have both just gone bust: Guardian.co.uk - MKOne collapses, TimesOnline.co.uk - Au Naturale closure. So whilst Strand Street is indeed rubbish, its high rents are irrelevant in this situation.
Tempus Fugit
there's talk of TKMax relocating along the street too, maybe to cheaper rents ?

TerryMcCann
With all these empty shops it is about time one was filled with a burger king Ha. Someone has written Burger King coming soon on the inside of the windows of the former Car Shop premises on Regent Street. Wasn't me honest
