Albert Tatlock
Talking about digging around and searching - does anyone know if archaeologists have ever investigated Tynwald Hill to see if there is anything buried there - like a viking or something? It was excavated recently by a crack archeaological team but the only bones they found were vertebrae They reckon there must have been spineless wankers associated with this site for a thousand years or more
Gladys
Rather liked the announcement that manhole covers would be lifted on Thursday, just to let the terrorists know that doing anything before would be a wasted effort.
Pat Ayres
When is the last time someone used a manhole to hide an explosive device? In the movies maybe but in real life, with the smell and IRIS and everything What you would do is loads up Barry's caravan with semtex, give him £20 to go to the Traf for the rest of the day and blow the whole lot up in one go. Or hide some in traffic cones, they'll never have enough time to look under every one.

Which begs the question, how much is all this costing the taxpayer? What with the Royal visits and and the .gov wanting to give more in relief to the disaster fund and wasn't it only a couple of weeks ago that our treasury minister was warning us of dark times to come with Gordon Brown statements such as "don't ask for pay rises because if you do it won't be much because of inflation", even though the cost of everything from petrol, gas oil and food has risen substantially. Don't get me wrong I have no problem with helping others but if there are troubled times to come, then charity begins at home I'm afraid.

UK security technicians have been on the Island this past week and marking any possible threats on the roads to be taken by the princes Royal. There is a nuclear bunker under Tynwald Hill. All the MHK's hid in it after 9/11 *taps nose*
