But we should not be translating general documents in mass - the onus has to be on immigrants and long time visitors to learn the language. The Island's balance would seem to be about right. I quite like the idea about using Manx on Police Cars etc - yes it would make the Island more distinct. But it would just be a veneer with little reality - I have to admit I am against teaching it linguisticly in schools etc - culture and history should be a part of any schools curriculum and that should include some manx, but to try to revive the language would, in my mind, be just a huge waste of resources that could be used better elsewhere.
