IOMFamilyHistorySociety
Music has been around for even longer than when I was born (yep, really old) and I've seen and heard so many fantastic and unusual sounds, that I'm looking to challenge you and see if you can come up with music fitting for our Family History Society? There's no trophy to be won, but I'm really looking forward to listening to your music selection Would it be Celtic, pipes, ancient, country, dance, electronic, folk, jazz or some other music that might suit our web site? IOMFamilyHistorySociety
Deliverance: The banjo and guitar playing together had an amazing rhythm and can be heard on 'You Tube' A good start, can anyone better it?
keyboarder
It's a fine piece of bluegrass for sure....... ; )
Onchanguy
Paul, Dueling Banjos is a stunning piece of music I'll agree but I don't think you would want your organisation associated with it. Hire the DVD of Deliverance and you'll see why. Emma Christian or King Chiaullee would be more appropriate. http://www.kciom.com/
keyboarder
Why not commission local musicians to record some pieces loosely based on Manx National Songs, arranged by W.H.Gill. This would deal with any copyright issues you might have, and the modal nature of many of them will provide that 'authentic' (lol,lol.... ; )) Gaelic nature which you might feel to be apt for the website. manxy
I love Bon Jovi, but it might not be fitting either Why not Ellan Vannin? Ask Robin Gibb (is he still on the island?) Now that's a classic moving piece if ever I heard one and IMO, would be ideal
