CJW
It would be seem that the TT and MGP will be finished off One can only hope. Bastards.
jimbms
From Manx Radio. Manx football may be cancelled tomorrow if racing goes ahead, a further announcement to follow. That's a bonus hate the friggin game egg chasing rules
Albert Tatlock
For me, it appears this whole thread and argument is all about one hour. One lousy hour ...and not a lot of people know that.
lisner
It would be seem that the TT and MGP will be finished off by those who are supposed to be "organising" it rather than rising costs or dwindling visitor numbers. Can they continue to run events like this that are now causing resentment among the locals? The TT will be finished off when there is a successful majority political will to do so. Perhaps next General Election a detractor might stand on an anti-TT platform. There are a very small number of MHKs who could possibly be classed as not being out-and-out TT supporters but they aren't against it as such and certainly not openly. flyingzambini
There's an 'urgent' message on the MGP site saying the race has been postponed until Saturday...and bugger all else saying whether it is on today or not, or indeed when a decision will be taken. The web cam at the top of the mountain is showing thick mist. Apart from having to listen to Manx Radio and hang of the presenters every word how does anyone find out whether it is on? Amadeus
Text from MGP site: Saturday 30th August: Roads will close at 11.00 am with the intention of starting the 3 lap Senior Manx Grand Prix at 12 pm, followed by the 3 lap Lightweight race and concluding with the 25th Anniversary Classic Parade (weather permitting). sarahc
I feel so bad for the MGP, they've had a lousy week. You used to be guaranteed scorching weather in MGP week.

Brilliant, that's our family day out fucked then. It's such a difficult decision for the race organisers I suppose, massively inconvenience the entire working population of Douglas on Friday, or massively inconvenience everyone else on Saturday. Genital warts hold more appeal than the MGP as far as I'm concerned.

flyingzambini
Point is, why don't they say when they are going to make the decision and then get that decision on the web site as soon as it is made? It's a massive inconvenience to loads of people but it could be made a whole load better if they communicated it better, just look how well the Parish Walk was communicated as it went on, practically as soon as someone reached the church it was up on the website, if they can do it why can't the MGP? Why can't they do some deal with MT to send out text messages for anyone who subscribes? Listen to Manx Radio on the hour... blimey why don't they just send out pigeons!
