x-in-man
I'd like to know whether he will be getting a bill for this act of gross stupidity? too right! - its not the first time they have pulled a car off the beach down there - its an emergency service not a tow service...... but at the same time, its a public safety thing, and Im sure they would rather tug and empty car off the beach just before high tide, than spend 6 hours looking for a lost driver who tried to get his car out - and failed. Not to mention the polution caused by a tank full of petrol or diesel, what ever was in the back etc etc. Some big bollards at the bottom may help - with a key for those who need to get onto the beach.
