Trying to get popular support on the basis of cute pictures of the dog wearing sunglasses is, in my view, nothing short of grotesque

Whoa!! Hang on there a minute mate. No-one mentioned a pic of the dog in sunglasses - that changes everything.

Where do I sign!

Did it have its head out of a moving car window too?

who doesnt love a dog in sunglasses?

I'm surprisedit hasn't died of embarressment - those sunglasses are sooo ast year.

Another point I noticed is that it is acknowledged on the adoption web site that Champ isn't good around other dogs and so has to be rehoused in a dogless home.

This animal is clearly capable of taking it out of another dog.

If the Manx authorities blink over this one it will be rediculous - rules are rules.

I noticed that too, Champ also has an issue with footballs - this was from a behavioral specialist. Is this the same behavioral specialist as:

The dog has been seen by a behavioral specialist who has said the dog is perfectly safe.

The clue is in the name. "Pit Bull" Terrier.

And for any tosser who declares, when their completely-out-of-control is charging at you to jump up at you, "It's ok, he/she doesn't bite" well they all bite, that's why they have teeth. Funny that. You know, the "One word from me and the dog does what it likes" type owner.

Jeeze, just how thick are some folks?

so now it isn't really a pit bull?? but it was apparently, according to the ever changing story, licensed as a pit bull, registered at the vets as a pit bull, advertised on manxnet as a pit bull, dean?? asked the government about pit bulls and was told ok, in error it would seem now though? pit bull, pit bull, pit bull. now it could help the bleeding heart brigade for it not to be a pitbull, so it isn't....perhaps they can be done for false advertisng or summat on manxnet?? and falsification of documents as they have obviously signed dog licence forms declaring it IS a pit bull. and funnily enough, now there is an issue, no one seems to know where it came from and who brought it into the island??? the stork??? it just magically appeared and became deans when it was 3 months old. the glossy bullshit in its favour keeps on coming and anything that may have been illegal, no one knows about.

They send immigrants back if they haven't got the right papers. If the owner can't find a home for it where it came from then the owner is responsible for whatever happens to the dog.

And there's just no demand for this sort of thing in hospitals and care homes either.

Sounds like the woman was either

a) Lying to everyone about its true breed in the misguided notion that owning a Pitbull is big and clever.

b) Bought a pitbull in the misguided notion that owning a Pitbull is big and clever.

She is neither big nor clever.

Either way, she needs to be charged with either importing a banned animal, or wasting police/DAFF/MSPCA's time in leading everyone to think it was a banned animal.

Sentence to be a choice of boat in the morning or the Jurby Hilton.

You know, I have never met the woman in question, yet I already dislike her more than Big Brother.

She was interviewed on MR today. The main question I had was what role 'Dean' had played in all this and why she felt that she 'would take the dog on', making it sound as though ' Dean' was no longer able/willing to have the dog and it needed rescuing for some reason.

All very strange, the story has the ring of something that has been spun into the finest tissue of convenient truths.

What I can't grasp (still) is, here is an illegal dog/object/gun/substance/whatever and a fuss is still being kicked up.

If I owned a beautiful pair of Purdy shotguns,

that I had inherited from (for sod's sake let's just say) my Grandfather but I didn't have a license to keep them but promised not to rob any post offices with them or shoot street urchins. But my Grandfather was a decorated WW2 veteran and he loved those guns................................

Would there be as much a fuss kicked up? Would I have poor misguided fools who ( and here's one of my all time favourite words) anthropomorphise QT ickle puppywuppy into a sofy mummy's boy.

The dog is twatting illegal. Not only illegal but bloody dangerous. Very bloody dangerous.

Here's a handgrenade my great-grandfather retrieved from the trenches of Flanders. It's perfectly safe it hasn't blown up in any one's face yet.

Bah!

Not only that - Champ is one ugly bloody dog!

This dean fella should also be getting a knock on the door for trying to sell an ilegal dog on the IOM.

where does the dog go when she is at work ?

If i buy a fluffy baby lion on ebay can i keepit in my garden shed ?

they have broken some serious laws and imported an ilegal animal.
