ai_Droid
Will this continual paean of self praise ever end? "The task we face is to minimise the negative," said Mr Bell. Seems quite realistic to me.
Skeddan
Treasury officials said the Manx Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose to £1.8bn in 2006/07, an increase of 11.2% from the previous period. By quick rough and dirty reckoning, a difference of abt £180m, and an increase in govt spending by this amount would achieve this rise in GDP (might MEA have contributed?) If they make the airport runway even longer and even more expensive, then GDP might rise even more next year! Ah, there's always a silver lining if you put the right spin. Cynicism aside - has anyone looked at the detail behind these figures?
