It will also include the replacement of the existing water main and the installation of additional street lighting. in order to minimise disruption, comply with current H&S legislation and complete the works in the shortest possible timescale, we propose to carry out the works under a series of phased road closures. thesultanofsheight
Its nice that they waited for the kids to go back to school to do this, not when traffic is lighter during the holidays. There must be a DOT 'awkward' department that devotes its time to finding the most inappropriate times to undertake roadworks to guarantee maximum chaos
TerryMcCann
They have the school holiday time scheduled for the repairs to however they manage to fuck up the original works
Spartacus
Memo from DOT 9th September 2008 Following on from the recent works in the White Hoe area.. ..The works include several areas of reconstruction and the re-profiling of the Old Castletown Road junction. All enquiries to Kevin Quine 493125 Hmm.. Another roundabout? The "heads up" is appreciated. Now they need to continue down the line; do something (anything?) to make Richmond Hill safer, completely re-do the whole Sunny Orchard - Blackboard bit and hey, while I'm in dreamland, by-pass Ballasalla! Once they've done all that the DOT can start the motorway to Peel Then again, by the time they do get round to thinking about the Castletown road improvements it won't matter as we'll all be getting round on our own Jet-Packs
Lee54
Just recieves another memo from DOT. We have been instruted to re- schedule our proposals for the works due to to the works not being acceptable to the traveling public. The works will now commence on Monday 29 Sep and will be carried out mainly under the control of trafic lights together with some short term road closures. Trafic lights will operate 24 hrs per day. By early Decmber we plan to close the the Old Castletown Road from its juntion with the Castletown road, to just south of the exit to Ellenbrook Av. Two way trafic will be able to travel between Kewaigue Hill and Douglas at this stage. At the conclusion of the works a full closure over one weekend may be required to lay the final running surface.
