Get with the times Manxmedia! We already have Longtail TV, thats Manx, not on the telly but TV is soooo last centuary, my son is not interested in the TV he likes to watch you tube. Tis a sign of the times, all for the better though, the TV has been pumping utter rubbish into peoples houses for far too long.

Much of the time the news only shows the island, and other such places, in a bad light - so who'd miss it?

How many people on here really watch Border news anyway, waiting for the island to be mentioned for one minute out of thirty minutes, whilst having to listen for the other 29 minutes to what's going on in the boring sheep-shagging lands of Keswick, Carlisle etc. etc. dispersed with adverts for sheep derived clothing?

Good riddance.

If only there was a place where you could keep up to date with the local news at a time that is convenient for you

We could call it the internet*

*this is not to be confused with 'the internet' which is only chock full with out of date court reports, non stories from the BBC and iomonline should it actually be working on a particular day

would rather that region than Granada where Manx news would be virtually non existant.

Yes, but your missing the point in that Border isa a crappy station anyway. It looks like its run from a shed by a bunch of ruddy-faced farmers from Cockermouth. The only saving grace for us is that it carries some news which we've already heard on the radio anyway. I really don't see what all the fuss is about.

The fuss is basically that we are being shoved onto a shit TV station miles away from here. Border was rubbish so good riddance but is was better than the Geordie TV is going to be. Many more Islanders have a cultural link with North West England than with the North East. We are familiar with the North West - what are the comparative numbers travelling to Liverpool and Manchester and Newcastle and Sunderland from here? The three most supported football teams on the Island or North Western add sizeable supports for Blackburn and Man City and local interest in the North West vastly out weighs the interest in the comedy goings on at St James.

Can you imagine what their news bulletins are like? "why whey, like. Canny wee lad Kevin Keegan, the Geordie Messiah has resigned. Fans at St. James were devastated like (cut to stock picture Newcastle fans crying and chanting nonsense). Owner, Mike "cockney mafia, like" Ashley has refused to comment, the snake in the grass, pass me by pitch fork bonney lad. Meanwhile in other news Kevin Keegan the Geordie Messiah has been named as the new manager of Newcastle United. Fans at St. James were delighted like (cut to stock picture Newcastle fans cheering and chanting nonsense). Owner, Mike "salt of the earth, sits wi' tha lads, downs pints in one, like" Ashley was unavailable for comment. And finally... the Isle of Man exploded today killing many thousands, here's our reporter Paul Moulten - "Hi..." sorry must interupt you there Paul because it's just been announced at St. James Park that canny wee lad Kevin Keegan, the Geordie Messiah has resigned. Fans at St. James were devastated like..." and so on for the rest of our lives.
