Cret
Is it going to be actually closed to traffic then, or just with lights or what have you?
Tempus Fugit
The work affects a section of the Douglas Inner Link Road from the White Hoe to the entrance of the Heron and Brearley Brewery at Kewaigue. if that's the inner link road I wonder where the outer ring road will be ? Marine Drive, Crosby, Creg-ny-Baa back road ?
thebees
Oh they are just geniuses, please do not question their plans. Shut off 2 major entrances to Douglas at the same time - pure genius...

TerryMcCann
Another mess for Champ to sort out? He would certainly be quicker at digging holes than your average DoT yellowcoat
Graculus
He would certainly be quicker at digging holes than your average DoT yellowcoat Yep, quite amazing how many times you can drive by the current works alongside King Bill's - the thorough job they're doing - and see absolutely no activity, not even a 'workman' in sight. Mind you, it's boosting the local economy - the Shell garage down the road must be making an absolute mint. That's it! The DTL could organise island-wide roadworks competitions, bringing in teams from across, and perhaps Europe, to inconvenience people even more. Just think of the number of bacon baps that would be sold, though. Funny how the projected length of 'major' roadworks is always quoted in weeks. Does somebody think that 24 weeks sounds better than 6 months?
Frances
Does somebody think that 24 weeks sounds better than 6 months? 2 weeks shorter (assuming calendar months) ?
Graculus
2 weeks shorter (assuming calendar months) ? Wrap it up whichever way you like. Honestly, almost half a year to work on a poxy little stretch of road, a good chunk of the time being likely to be taken up with bap and fag breaks. Nitpicker!!
