Stryder
My heart goes out to everyone affected by this disaster. I am not a religious person. I am not sure if this makes me more or less religious. Does anyone know of a central emergency fund we can give to, where the money *will* go to the needy? The Godfather of Manx House
...The Red Cross is your best bet. I'm popping into their shop on Wednesday to drop a few quid in. It truly is horrific. Nature at it's most powerful, deadly worst... ...GOMH*...
thebees
OMG - 22,000 people dead! Thats mental. There was a program on a while ago about Tsunamis - they reckon one is due (in the next millenium or so) that will wipe out the coast of America, possibly Hawaii (or similar) will drop loads of rock into the sea and then the wave will come, or go - it was an interesting prog but the reality is very sad. No need to slaughter chikens though.

R_ReaVeR
Did I hear correctly on the news, but didn't some american earthquake monitoring station pick up details of this Tsunami when it began and they didn't know who to telephone to warn it was on its way? R_ReaVeR
Here we go Wave warning I cannot believe the excuse used "We don't have contacts in our address book for anybody in that part of the world," what a cop out
Mission
Scary stuff indeed. You'd think that the monitoring centre would be able to predict where such Tsunami's would strike and therefore have all of the contacts required in their address book! R_ReaVeR
I've just made a donation via the Disasters Emergency Committee website which covers 12 UK charities. You may have to bear with them as they are busy, which I guess is a good sign. Donate
