Pretty simple really.

None or few, Planning Officers have any building experiance at all. ie: On-Site.

Imo, most of their desicions are come about through their own tastes or opinion and never backed up with style, age, architecture.

No prosecutions come from , wrong windows and door in pvc, deffering from plans, re-submision of plans when the old ones have been thrown out. And they let the Developer know what needs changing.

However, the best one i think is, when it goes to Appeal, they bring in a UK " Expert " who applies UK thinking to a " IOM " problem?

Can we not have a " IOM " expert, to apply judgement on IOM building?

This so called " Expert " will always relate and apply, thinking, waht would be right in the UK, not what is right for the IOM. That could be why,

1/ If going to appeal, it is always a UK guys brought in by the Develper.

and

2/ As the local planning are stupid. It gett's passed. :o
