Djs Wanted

Switched On

Recommended Posts

Hello!!

Due to new clubs opening, old clubs rebranding, management moving around and DJs retiring, we seem to have a shortage of Club andf Function DJs at the moment! So we are looking to make contact with new DJs.

If you are already on our books then no need to contact us again unless you have changed what kind of work you would like to do.

We have club work at 3 different clubs available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday nights.

We have clients who require DJs for private Christmas functions for December

We also have a shortage for DJs for next year, various dates for every type of function from 16th Brthdays, to Weddings, to Marquee events, to private festivals to 90th Birthdays and everything in between.

What we are looking for....

  • DJs that can play to a crowd and not just play their favourite tunes for their own enjoyment.
  • DJs who have a good knowledge and collection of house classics new and old, but also can mix it up with current dance, R&B, Hip Hop (old skool and new stuff.)
  • DJs who play the usual party mix of music covering all eras and styles.
  • We are also looking for DJs who play indie, rock,

We are not looking for DJs who stick to one sound.

If you would like to be considered for any of this work, please contact Switched On Entertainment and events

I am a 87 yr old with a massive collection of 1940 music onwards, I do suffer from bad BO and smelly breath and my zimmer frame means i need a larger DJ box if possible...

But I am willing to DJ anywhere except quids inn.. as its ruff as there ..lol

From the user side. I was made up with the party Gid sorted out for my lovely daughter, I'd 'washed my hands' of the whole party (with the exception of providing a few decorations and being self appointed 'added security') then, purely by chance, Gid came to the rescue at the eleventh hour and the party was a massive success.

Holy Paladin, Harold Shipman is dead and I think Gid would be more looking for younger, trendy DJ's (like himself - how do you do that never ageing thing? no kids, I seeeeeeeee). Great night, bit noisey for me, I'm a pounding psy-trance head but the young ones, they love the modern raver music :) thanks a trillion x

The Bees.. the reply was a bit off a joke.. I am one off Gids DJs and an active supporter of James, he does work damn hard and his team do a good job.

still i will let you off being a trance head..hehe

the joke was at the upstairs paramount DJ, who is supposed to look like harold shipman, and to be fair to him, does have the dance floor busy every saturday night..

Dear Gid

I Love you as well

from your secret admirer !!!

When I say trance I am very very picky about what I listen to. A lot of trance is absolutely dreadful and if they were my records I would use them for frizbees, actually, mostly I am a horrible Twisted snob, Simon Posfords many projects cover most music needs :) Shri's new album is great, I havent listened to it properly yet but Im sure it will be ace when I do. Did I mention he sent me a Christmas card because I couldnt go to their show last week? People seem to like him "Ohhh f*** yes this is straight in by record bag. Badmarsh mix is brilliant." - Laurent Garnier - PBB Radio/Various - Worldwide.

Bees, glad your passion is there...

I am the same with a soulfull RnB or Funky House CD.. sadly records are far to heavy to lump around these days !!!!

Sadly, the last thing you want to do is specialise... as it only reduces your gigs..

Thats funny I used to think he was that DJ Dan from Manx Radio - who knows/cares he might be. He'd only play hymns and other religious music though be a bit of a rubbishy DJ :D

John, anyone who has ever heard me DJ will tell you, "No way" I can pick nice songs but all that beat matching stuff and cross fader stuff, oh no, thats when the DJ should be telling you the name of the song you were just 'floored' by, its uncool to go looking at records and I suppose now people use computers and CD decks and MP3 players with things like Ableton and that to DJ it would be impossible to see what was playing. How are you supposed to know who a tune is by in this day and age? I spent years liking The Egg and not knowing who they were because of DJs sneaking their tunes in.
