Building closer associations and links with Nordic countries makes good sense - even to extent of informal participation in Nordic Council etc. The more close friends internationally the better, and the links with Norway are not only Viking, but go up to 13th century. IoM owes a lot to Norway, and they've always treated IoM very generously.

Nordic countries and Norway in particular might be of great assistance to IoM in many ways. There's a lot of solidarity and mutual support amongst Nordic countries, and IoM aligning itself more closely with these would be no bad thing. There seems to be a lot of goodwill shown by them, I'd think stronger ties and closer relations could be developed if IoM reached out to them a bit more.
