Freggyragh
Well, I haven't seen the show, but it looks like Jeremy put his body on the line in the interests of road safety education. Good man.

thesultanofsheight
Shots of Top Gear presenter and Isle of Man resident Jeremy Clarkson smashing a truck into a wall are released. Source : http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/entert...ent/7704928.stm HE'S NOT AN ISLE OF MAN RESIDENT. He has a holiday home here as he has admitted himself - its not his main residence which is in the UK. Is this another failed marketing coup for the tourist board that Jeremy has changed his name by Deed Poll to Jeremy "Isle of Man Resident" Clarkson so that with every mention of his name some DTL numpty gets to bask in his reflective glory. jehovah
Looks as if he drove into a preconstructed wall without supports, therefore inherently weak, at 4 mph below the legal limit for such a vehicle. Injuries would occur by bricks coming through the window, some mesh on the front would have saved him the pain. Somebody screwed up the risk assessment, can't wait to see it. Frances
I thought the same that it was setup to appear riskier than it was - single thickness wall (?newly built) - there appears to be mesh on windscreen.

He was in pain but not seriously injured. I had better not say whether I think there was a screw-up, or not. S
%age
Not exactly local news is it? in fact not really news full stop That's never stopped Newsbot in the past When there are two (?) people getting paid by the licence fee payer to report news on an Island of 80,00 souls. This is acceptable stuff. Jeremy Clarkson = Celebrity = Isle of Man = Anything he does is News for us. Thank you Newsbot for this nugget.
Lefty
It's impossible to escape Jeremy's smug face anywhere.... the IOM newspaper worships him so much he had two separate special mentions in this weeks Courier (could someone please create some competition for IOM newspapers so there's a local paper worth purchasing). I also echo the previous poster who said JEREMY IS NOT A MANX RESIDENT! As you can probably tell, like many actual Manx residents, I'm not a Clarkson fan. Skeddan
How is this news? Wtf... How does Newsbot work? The snippet/headline given in Newsbot's post here (and in some other items) doesn't appear in the story, but looks like it has been made up (quite clever if scripted natural language, despite misunderstandings and getting it wrong). There's been a few items recently where newsbot seems to be going a bit skewy - TT safety team to provide better entertainment, milk price rises in response to high overheads - and now Clarkson stories where he is a resident of IoM and this appears in 'Local News'. Does newsbot need an oil change or a holiday?
