Skeddan
The Aussies are pretty advanced in this field - this has a bit on what's been done with 'reactivating DNA' from the Tasmanian Tiger. http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2008/may/20/genetics They've developed some clever techniques which can partly overcome the problems of DNA which has broken down in samples which are very old and haven't been preserved by freezing. Wonder if we might ever see the Irish Elk brought back?
