manshimajin
A recent equality ruling on car hire for over-75s in Ireland comes down on the side of grey power: http://www.irishexaminer.com/irishexaminer...6788-qqqx=1.asp Chief executive officer Niall Crowley said as a result of negotiations with the company, the blanket ban on drivers over 75 years of age has been removed, as has the automatic daily surcharge for drivers over 70. A safety assessment form, to take account of individual drivers’ health, driving experience and existing motor insurance policy, has been introduced. Not clear whether this applies to all drivers - I think it would be a good idea - there are people of all ages who don't seem to know how to drive even though they have passed the test.
