It's a pity the BBC can't tell the difference between a dredger and a fishing boat

The Old Git
...she was an automated scallop dredger. It's the first time I've ever heard of the Solway Harvester referred to as a dredger. A dredger, for me, implies a ship used to keep harbours and channels clear of silt. Anyway, I hope then end of this sad episode is near, it's gone on for too long
%age
A dredger alright. Dredging inflicts long term harm on the sea bed eco-system, but that is another subject.
homarus
They should never have raised her in the first place! Once they had reclaimed the lads who died on her that should have been it! Instead the whole thing turned into a long running circus , and I for one am glad that it's nearly over . I only hope that the families and friends of the crew can now gain some sort of closure . R.I.P. boys

Lee54
My mother lost several members or her family is a similar tragedy many years ago when several fishing boats were lost in the Clyde, she never got over the loss or the chance to lay the boys to rest. So the Island should be congratulated in what they have done for the many families involved in this tragedy.
