manxy
link to BBC News Controversial to say the least. People react in different ways when the guy scored a goal and I can understand the grief of the parents, but to say that it was a pair of handcuffs and directed at them is questionable. Anyone else got views on this?
jimbms
What a load of bollocks, what next are the anti-terrorist squad going to arrest a player for going down on his knees in a pose akin to muslim praying when he scores a goal

ans
The only thing questionable about it is his decision to do it in the first place. He's a close friend of the convicted footballer and has visited him a number of times. His public statement claims that it was a 'private' gesture but doesn't elaborate on what it was. I think it's pretty clear exactly what the gesture was and for whom it was meant for. However, he's apologised to the family and that really should be the end of it. Any punishment the FA decide to levy will pale next to the stick he's going to get from opposing fans over the next few months. Maybe the club should fine him for bringing them into disrepute, but it's a club internal matter really.
gidderwook
The F.A. should make sure the game is replayed and that this particular player is banned for it. That way Blackpool have another chance at the three points Up the Seasiders!
