In 1982 the British government was prepared to go to war with Argentina to preserve the way of life of 1800 sheep shaggers whilst at the same time condemning hundreds of mining, shipbuilding & steel communities to a life of destitution.

I don't think they actually give a shit about what happens to us, we are probably just a pawn in their game of global chess ready to be sacrificed if it fits in with the strategic plan

Bell not unduly concerned - Manx Radio

Gordon Brown is using it to deflect attention away from his own incompetence

Is this undiplomatic language?

Accurate language more like

…when your only real 'plan' seems to be to punish the wealthy, then you don't want the wealthy to have another option? Also seems to be the case for Obama's big plan

A socialist coup but at what cost

Pssst 'you want to borrow a fiver. It'll cost you £10'

Did anyone else go to the debate last night at the Sefton Hotel? I found what the IOMG representative said as very enlightening, IMO it is all down to pure greed, they want what we have, simple. I don’t mean the sheep, but the wealth that is flowing through the IOM system.

Not your usual ass kissing I grant you!

But maybe needed saying ?

Our last high powered delegation sent to Westminister didn't seem to get us very far , if Mr Browns weekend comments are anything to go by?

The more I see/hear of Alan bell the more I like him!

A bit of backbone in a Manx Politician a rare thing these days ? :)

and he can bench press 200KG, trust me he has plenty of backbone. But I agree, we need a Government that is going to stand up for us, not just yessir no yessir (no pun intended) The UKG just want what we have and they are trying to put people of from using the offshore facilities we have, so they will use London.

You trust Bell to lead us through this crisis? He was apparently powerless against the masterminds of the MEA theft, what makes you think he can defeat the UK government, especially when Tony Brown is acting as if nothing is happening.

This has been a deliberate attack on the IOM / CI since the assets were frozen, it has been sustained through the media and is getting worse each week.

Bell was recently pictured with the IMF chief, perhaps a bail out deal has already been concluded for us?
