John
Its eco-friendly so there will be a few holes in the floor, I also agree this is a complete waste of money and at a time when areas in children’s healthcare is collapsing.......

You're quite right. It's almost as bad as building an unwanted new pavilion in Noble's Park, a new clubhouse (community centre?) in Pulrose, or even a statue of a seagull! John
Point taken, a pavilion that is lying empty, a club house used by? but at least I can say the seagull was a Douglas Development crapject! as they say "hindsight is such a wonderful thing"

Amadeus
...a new gov's hill roundabout no-one asked for and that was built twice as the DoT messed up (again...)
manxman8180
.... a club house used by.... Golfers? Actually I think that's one of the most sensible investments. It was fairly modest in cost IIRC, and is sited at the busiest golf course on the Island. It will attract greater lunchtime traffic (decent menu) and more poeple will be willing to have a function there. Certainly doesn't rank with the worst decisions of some. John
%age resistance is futile, you will be assimilated..... Not been to Douglas Golf Course Clubhouse or the Meadows Pavilion as its known yet, but may pop up there for a drink, as it is now a Public House, usable by all, not just golfers. homarus
So how is the 'eco-development' to be heated? And what kind of drainage system is being used? 1. Hot air and bullshit wil be used for heating same as usual ! There will be no need for drainage ,as all waste( human and vegetable) will be moulded into 9in high replicas of the laxey wheel ,which can then be sold on to the Tourist industry
Pat Ayres
Guaranteed they will import all the wood needed in the construction at enormous cost, because "we grow the wrong sort of wood"
Skeddan
Maybe DAFF should also think about an eco fisheries protection vessel if the cost of fuelling the Barrule is a problem.
