wideload
just going from the MR & IOM online websites, but their hunt might go better if they told the public the details of the car they are looking for
slinkydevil
Why don't they ever give a description of the car? You know make, model, colour. Surely on an island it would prevent a waste of time searching if people could ring in and say "yes there is a car fitting that description on our road / in a ditch / dogging on Douglas head" EDIT: damn you wideload for your quicker common sense! Mr. Sausages
If there were two officers present, as the BBC say (I don't really trust newsbot), I'd be surprised if they didn't know exactly who it was and what car he was in.

Stavros
I could be completely wrong but it is interesting to note that a 37 year-old man was found at a house in Mona Drive on 16 November and he later died in hospital. Manx Radio Report Police investigate death 17/11/2008 13:03:59 Police have launched an investigation after a man died in Douglas yesterday. The 37 year-old was found at a house in Mona Drive in the capital just after 2.30pm on Sunday, after police and paramedics were called to the scene. The man, who hasn't yet been named, was taken to Noble’s Hospital, but later died. More details are expected to be released later today and officers say they are not currently looking for anybody else in relation to the incident. Then: Forensic team in Mona Drive Forensic team in Mona Drive 29/11/2008 10:58:43 An investigation is under way into a serious incident in central Douglas overnight. Several police vans and forensic teams have descended on Mona Drive, off the promenade. A stretch of the road has been sealed off as detectives begin what appears to be a painstaking inquiry. Local residents have reported loud noise in the area overnight, but there's no official word yet on what has happened. Thomas Hudson, who lives in the neighbouring Empress Apartments, told Marian Kenny his partner was woken in the night by commotion outside and Hunt for motorist who drove into constable Hunt for motorist who drove into constable 29/11/2008 12:49:17 A police man hunt is underway after an officer was seriously injured by a driver who apparently drove into him deliberately. The male officer stopped to speak to a man in his car in Mona Drive, Douglas just after 3.30 this morning. Before he had finished, the man drove off and ran into the constable. Police say the officer was carried along on the vehicle, before being thrown into the road. The officer, who belongs to the Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team, is being treated in hospital for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. Detectives say the car was driven off in the direction of Palace Road and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them. Thomas Hudson, who lives in the nearly Empress Apartments, says a detailed forensic search of the street has been carried out Anybody with information is asked to ring Police Headquarters on 631212, or the anonymous Crimestoppers line, on 0800 555 111. Obviously the last two items are connected but I do wonder if these are somehow linked to the first incident and the recent drugs raids that are being carried out.
