Interesting website, will have a read and watch those movies this evening. Yeah the most interesting thing is that the United Kingdom is voted the worlds best tax haven which I found particularly interesting!! I have had a look and it looks like people who are arguing for tax havens do so from a neoclassical (economic theory) standpoint. This utterly different to my ideological perspective. I understand why they believe that taxation distorts the markets and serves as a hindrance to productivity and hence economic growth. I can understand that as growth continues people become more prosperous. But the issue over tax havens seem to be, ostensibly, about the social responsibility associated to tax, i.e. the responsibilities of companies and individuals. The website also seems to put across this idea that the less paid in tax the better without looking at why this money is paid in the first place. But of course, this is neoclassical economics. I see capitalism as creating unemployment and inequalities, therefore you need tax to pay for services that support the unemployment and redistribute wealth. I would like to write more but it is just too late.
