%age
Does anybody know what's happening this year in the way of traditional Manx festive celebrations?. I always try and find a Hunt the Wren celebration to join if I can. And then there's Cammag and Manx Carvals and the White Boys and the like.... Any information? Nollick Ghennal as Blein Vie Noa! A bit of generalisation, but as with all things traditional and Manx they are under threat due to apathy. The New and the Nouveau Manx rarely seem interested in activities other than their new car, holidays and their computer. The nearest they get to local outdoor activity is walking the dog. Take some of our recent forum members to something like the Cammag and you will be met with nothing but disdain
John
My housemate is a keen hunt the wren'er (is that the term?) I may join him this year !
%age
There was a prominent politician (now a minister!!) made the front page of the newspaper after his Hunt The Wren antics in the Woody. For all the wrong reasons of course although it seems they surely have a good day out.

Freggyragh
I wouldn't say the cammag was under threat at all - there were loads of people there. Suppose it depends on the weather.
ponderer
What is 'Hunt the Wren' ? For the doubters... Hunt the Wren from last year made it to You tube... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uZUQh1fvNqs I'm not saying if I was there or not! Forgot to mention the Illiam Dhone ceremony on Hango Hill then to Malew Church. Haven't managed to make it over the last few years but I assume it still happens on 2 January (anniversary of his patriotic martyrdom)? Can't find anything online about it for this year though.
