[BBC News] Casino licence 'vital' for plans

We’re in dire need of a new casino. The Hilton is great for a few drinks post-session and a few quid here and there but it’s not somewhere I could ever imagine having an proper gamble and evening out if only for the hordes of stumbling drunks at the weekend that have been refused admittance everywhere else.

A decent sized bar, a restaurant that’s not overlooking the slot machines and a smart atmosphere with decent service and it would be a winner.

On the apartments I’d have to ask the question how many of these would actually be available for annual short-term holiday rental and would any be sold off on a longer term leasehold?

So, let's see. A gets the second licence for his casino/aparthotel at Mount Muddle in advance of the planning application. Value goes through the roof and the company planning the Lord Street hotel/casino buy the plot and plans.

40 yrs later at the derelict site near the derelict bus terminal a planning application, now known as a 'brown envelope' development, for 3000 one roomed flats for the local authority, now known as Christian and co, is awarded to the Dept of works, now known as D*****a holdings.

Win win situation.

Just guessing, no proof whatsoever.
