Keith
It's just been on the news that some areas in the UK are running out of salt for gritting the roads. Perhaps we should cash in and sell some of ours? After all, the DoT sure ain't using much I've come over The Mountain this evening, don't expect it to remain open for long with no evidence of recent gritting (the snow on the road was completely white, none of the brown slush that you normally get at the side of the road). In the UK when it starts snowing, councils reach for the salt, here it starts snowing, the DoT reach for the 'Road Closed' signs
jehovah
Maybe we should open the salt mines at the Ayres again?
Frances
I don't think health and safety allow companies to push workers done the brine pipes these days - it worked by pumping water in and brine out which went by iron pipe to near Ramsey ship yard. rednik
As much as I gate to get in the way of a good rant, I've been over the mountain a couple of times this afternoon and they were definately gritting both times.
