pongo
The coast erosion at Balladoole ceased many years ago. The land is prime farmland though. It is a shame to see such rich land being used for such a project, but government here seems to be all about bureaucrats on auto-pilot trying to recreate suburban Merseyside. It's even more of a shame, all the sanitary products on the beach. And the sewage in the bay. I'm pleased that the issue is finally being addressed. Freggyragh
Well, it is a shame that the current arrangement - (ie the sewerage pipe just south of the GI pumps all the crap into a tidal stream that carries it direct to Purt Lewaigue) is not ideal. If this pipe was extended, or better still relocated, and if people were a bit more responsible about the chemicals and other waste products they flushed down the bog, then it could actually be beneficial to the marine environment (shit is a great fertilizer).
