Jimcalagon
Though you could always learn Manx instead. The sound of the bagpipes is more musical though.

keyboarder
Bagpipes are ace. It never ceases to amaze me how such an ancient and relatively technologically simple instrument is able, in the right hands, to rouse some seemingly fundamental emotional responses in me. They epitomise the power of music itself, the rawness and volume that requires no energy source beyond that of the piper's skill in keeping the bag inflated and the pressure release controlled. I can equate the experience as a listener with the sound of a large church organ. Hate bagpipes, hate music! You might just as well declare - "I AM AN UNSOPHISTICATED PHILISTINE!". If I had the time I'd be well up for this, if only as a chin stroking bystander .......... ; ))

Albert Tatlock
Still spaces available , come & try you may like it . Space - the best place for bagpipes - where no one can hear it scream. 5000 years - and all they come up with up there is a goat with a tube stuck up its arse. . Freggyragh
I love pipes, especially the uillean pipes, Northumbrian smallpipes and Breton pipes. Colin Jerry used to play the Manx tunes beautifully on his uillean pipes. If it is Scottish pipes then it has to be Ceòl Mòr for me - not that keen on the military marching band 'Scotland the Brave' stuff. Anyway, good luck with it. .
