Titanic
I have recently learned that James I C Boyd, historian and author, has died at the age of 89 last Friday after a long illness. James Boyd spent much of his life writing books about the narrow gauge railways of Isle of Man and beyond. His books about the Isle of Man Railway were regarded by many as the definitive history of the line. James Boyd was an inspirational historian who spent hours researching the narrow gauge railways of Isle of Man. Many local enthusiasts - including me - can trace their interest in the Isle of Man Railways to a copy of his books. Over the years, thousands more have been inspired to visit the island and support the railways after reading his work in print. Thank you James...
