manshimajin
I find it "reassuring" as I had expected the cost to be £950,000.

Moghrey Mie
The Isle of Man government spent £713,000 on public relations in the past year, the chief minister says. Source : http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/world/...man/7909946.stm There are only three news papers, radio stations and a few publications like Manx Tails. Surely you don't need a full-time PR for the Education department writing the odd press release and DLGE shouldn't need to buy in 'Costain Media' to publicise the kerbside coloections. There are too many people on the gravy train. I suggest three or four people could serve the whole government. Freedom to Flourish was supposed to send out one clear message about the IOM. And they still think we're an off-shore tax haven in the middle of the Irish sea.
manshimajin
I notice Tony Brown knew how much they cost, how many there are, the number of departments they work in and was silent about what they do...I suspect the PR people briefed him on what to say and what not to say. PR is the practice of managing the flow of information between an organisation and its public. I still say the Department of Education doesn't need a full-time employed to do that. I suggest three or four people could serve the whole government. Freedom to Flourish was supposed to send out one clear message about the IOM. Nice I see your an expert on PR by taking the first line from Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_relations PR isn't just about the the IOM for the Island people - it's global. slinkydevil
Hey we can play a childish tit-for-tat game on spelling if you like? "kerbside coloections." By the way I'm not happy with the 6 figure sum spent either, my argument was with your inability to understand that PR for the IOM does not equate to a few press releases and articles in local media. You carry on though.
