Pontius
C'mon, MF-ers - we should be applauding this! Paddy's/the Crofts have done a great job promoting the IoM and Manx produce. Just look at what their links with James Martin and the Hairy Bikers have done - loads of free promotion by major celebrities on TV, radio and at major events. All at a time when our scallop fishermen are facing severe competition in the UK markets from cheap and inferior imports from the Far East and elsewhere. To get about 3,000 people there last year, when the weather was absolutely crap, was a major achievement. This can only be a positive thing for us - it may not produce instant results but, over time, constant effort by the Crofts and others can only be a good thing. It might also encourage more of us to eat Manx seafood! Personally, I'll be down there supporting them as much as I can:D Rant over!
