La_Dolce_Vita
Manx news! It's regularly about drug busts and prosecution for drugs. Makes it appear like it is some really big deal. If it is the only thing worthy of going into the news then no wonder people are escaping the boredom by taking them.

Or you could look at it another way, robbery, muggings, stabbings, drug busts etc are so common in the oh so ever great namby pamby glorious nanny state called the UK they hardly get in the news let alone get the police to get off thier fat arses and do something whereas here it taken a little more seriously. That is not most peoples' experience of life in the UK, Europe or anywhere else.
manxy
Oh what absolute JOY! More come-overs residing in Jurby Hilton, costing the tax payer more money. Isn't there some way of just kicking them off the island for good? Monopoly all over again. Take a chance or go to jail

keyboarder
Monopoly all over again.Take a chance or go to jail Not sure which edition of Monopoly you have, or even if it's some kinky bedroom version you play with your partner, you know, the one who works in Jurby and that. But I think you'll find it's - 'Pay a £10 fine or take a Chance'.

manxman2
If they don't want to look after our sick people why do we look after their druggies?Throw them back or charge the UK for their 'care'. Mind you. to be fair. 'Innocent until proven guilty'. you made a good point totally by accident there pammy. what compensation is there for someone remanded in custody for months only for the police to drop the charges or the suspect to be found not guilty. no job to return too rented flat/house gone .. fook all left and what compo would they get ???.. . .. the police only need to charge someone with any old bollocks if they are of no-fixed abode on the island to have them remanded. .. cannot get bail without a permanent address on the island otherwise. thesultanofsheight
now for a fact. within 6 weeks of it opening 2 prisoners were treated for a serious worm infection Somehow that is the prisons fault is it? and as for luxuries they dont even provide them with soap anymore after the first bar its buy their own out of their weekly allowence ranging from £12 for convicted inmate to £18 for on-remand buy alot of luxeries that.. Good. They've got piss all else to spend their £12 on so why not have to buy their own bloody soap. prisoners they maybe but its a human right to be fed uncontaminated properly cooked food as part of their basic care. IOMG spends more providing food to prisoners per head than it does to its elderly care home residents, and they nick the pensions off the care home residents so they are paying, effectively, to be treated worse than prisoners. For that reason alone I really couldn't give a toss. and to be supervised whilst incarcerated as a punishment by staff who are not dead from the neck up. What is your point here? If there was an IQ test to join the prison service you'd have no supervision at all. Who the hell who had better options would want the job of watching grown men wanking off all day?
