I reckon this sort of thing happens reasonably often - at this stage of the outbreak 20 years ago about 100 members of the WHO would be really shitting themselves; ringing health ministries; monitoring reports of the outbreak; getting the virus identified; looking at its match to earlier ones, and drugs which might stop it; trying to make sure emergency plans are coordinated.

Nowadays rather than it being the 100 odd experts who can actually do anything current around about 3,000,000,000 also people know about it.

For 99.99% of the them there is nothing whatsoever they can really do, for the other 0.01% they have to ensure that their PRE-PREPARED plans are organized and ready IF they are needed! And the 100 odd continue all their work and being really nervous.

Sure pay those 100 people alot money to do their investigations, sure make sure government have action plans for epidemics, but what a load of hype for everything else!

Quite simply: security will be stepped up at airports, hospitals will all soon be on standby, everything will soon grind to halt, governments will fall, and we are all going to die. That's what it looked like on News Panic 24 yesterday...but the good news was at least the weather looks good for a couple of days and Harry Hill won a Nafta.

I also think the price of pork bellies will soon drop, and fully expect the Dukes to get fooked yet again.
