Digga Posted May 3, 2009 Share Posted May 3, 2009 If diesel leaks as a spray :ie vapourised, at the right mixture with air it is highly volatile and a spark will certainly ignite it. Yes i agree the atomized diesel spray which requires high pressure will burn but poolsor streams of diesel are quite safe and i have in the past put a wiring loom fire out on a machine with a bucket of diesel as that is all that was at hand but you dont normally get 'that' situation when your syphoning/draining a tank of diesel fuel as most pumps used to steal fuel are low pressure/high flow but you can throw your argument at most situations and get a fire if the conditions are just right you just stay away from custard powder as that can be a killer Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
