[BBC News] New Manx fastcraft vessel sails

Had 2 trips on it now.

Plus points

Nicely laid out, plenty of lounges and quiet areas

They have satellite tv so something to actually watch (though be careful showing movies for men. If the boat is delayed the 'specialist' films may come on)

The hand dryers in the bogs are ace. If an engine ever breaks just strap one of those bad boys to the side and we'll be home in no time.

Minus points

I can see the smoking ban on the outer decks causing a lot of trouble. 2 people got grabbed by security last night and that was just on a quiet sailing. Lots of drunken footy fans will mean trouble.

The food and all food related things is bloody awful. Crap food, crap menu and crap service.

Surely in this day and age we could have wi-fi on board (even for a fee)

That is all

A bit late old chap I already apologised for that mistake on page 1 of this threat, you realy should read more carefully.

I fail to see why I should subject myself to a wade through pages of tedious postings, just in case you've made a mistake. Get it right the first time please!

As Manx as you - you know posting 4,000 times + makes you no better!

I think that is his member number, not his posts number

Thanks "The Old Git" - You are quite correct it! so I rightly apologise, but it does annoy me this feeling expressed by a few here here that posting should only be allowed to Islanders born and bred? - we should welcome anyone who shows an interest in our Island.

Thanks Dave H for the comments on your experiences on board, but I do agree that some are small points and are ones that should be put. IF only Mr Woodward and his management team would be willing to listen at times. When Mr Woodward first started his diary on the website things looked promising, but it seems that was only to be while it lasted, my last two items of correspondence with Mr Woodward received no response?

I sailed to Liverpool friday morning and returned last night on the Mannanan. Excellent crossings, helpful polite staff, food was good (what do you expect ffs), plenty of room, cinema, TV's with subtitles, well fitted out and comfortable.

Looks impressive too!!

My only gripe is the cost, with a premier lounge seat, just under £100 return!

What a load of moaning nit-picking people you are.

I came back on her on Friday. She is an improvement on anything we have had before

I too was on that sailing and have to admit it is a big improvement, The only problem i had was the kids play area, its 4 large bean bags zzzZZZ.

I came back on the 19.30 crossing yesterday, a big improvement. Hit fog but can't blame the SP for that. Comfy, far more legroom and tables, loads of staff, a nice boat. The only thing that was a bit irritating was the PA system was so quiet it wasn't possible to hear what was said, (in the bar area anyway) it needs sorting. Now then, the prices have increased beyond belief, but, would you go back to the old fares and use the Snaefell, or, pay the extra and travel in style.

Forgot about that one. Can't really blame anyone for that though. I guess it is something you will only find out about when the boat is full.
