It makes me laugh when people piss and moan that theres fuck all in Ramsey. There's more to do in Ramsey than there is down south . They got a shiny new pool we get a slight refurb on the piss poor effort in Castletown . Mooragh park with its boating lake and water thingy is better than the comparable facilities down here ie Silverburn/Poulsom Park . What both areas do have in common is that there isn't a great deal to do when the weather is shite and you are past the age of running around in parks for fun . A decent small cinema/bowling alley/skating rink type complex would benefit both areas greatly .

Hold on we had an aquarium in Port Erin with an educational facility to boot. That got closed because they couldn't afford to maintain it and there were not enough visitors, and not all that long ago.

Lets be practical

pool, changing rooms and cafe, why did they build a new one?

OK so we have to live with what we have got. Fill in pool, make an indoor sports facility with appropriate seating so it could be used as a cinema, a gallery, for indoor sports, of all types, a performance space

fill it with sand and have it as an official dog walking / shitting area . the idea is you go in have a cup of coffee after throwing the dog over the side .. the walls are too high and slippery for them to get out on their own.

Talks are taking place which could see the site of a former swimming pool being turned into a centre for Manx marine life.

The centre would feature marine life found in waters around the island.

Why bother? - thats like having a wildlife park with animals from around the island. If you want to see the marine life get on a boat.

I think they should make it a 'Wilfs Yard Museum' - just put a load of old shite around the pool edges and fill the pool up with turds and bits of drift wood. Then they could build the marina on the proper site but always have the museum to remind future genereations of ramsey folk just how shit the whole area used to be.

Wilfs yard!! absolutley brilliant, maybe he would like this idea - theres plenty of people who would to see him sleeping with the fishes!!
