La_Dolce_Vita
China is a communist country what do you expect? I wouldn't call it communist. It has a communist party ruling the country but it is neither a communist society nor is its economy based on communism. It is state capitalist. Not that different from western nations but with a massive state with an even more intrusive role in people's lives.
scarbunny
OK so they are not overtly communist in their day to day dealings with the world at large. But they control the internet and they (attempt to) control all information. Is it any surprise that they restrict, out right ban, reporting on a period of history that they no doubt want to be forgotten? I'm suppressed they allowed any one in to the square at all, the barring of foreign reporters seems like quite a relaxed response to me.
