Roger Smelly
Well if people didnt harass these fish and kept away from them life would be grand for them. As usual the idiots of mann want to swim with em and intefeare with nature. Yes take a photo but anything in my book is harasmment. Leave them to get on with it, if it was me i would ban the idiots who try and touch/swim with em. And as for jetski's, there is other idiots in boats to, speed boats, watercraft and the summer saliors who come too close into the shore.
DRIVER
If they put one in the new aquarium in ramsey's old swimming pool we can all have a look at it nice and close , they could put two in and we could watch them breed
Cret
it is an offence to recklessly disturb a basking shark Does that mean that if you disturb them carefully you're ok? I don't think people diving with them are much of an issue, but boats getting too close is bound to piss the poor critters off. I'm not defending them, but I'd be surprised if a jetski could cause much more than a nasty shiner to a basking shark since the propeller (impeller) is not at all exposed, plus there's not a lot of depth of a jetski in the water. Boats on the other hand sit much deeper in general, may not have the same visibility as a jetskier, and have an exposed prop that goes way deeper in the water and can cause a fair bit of damage if they strike something.
