The number of passengers using the Isle of Man's airport falls again in the last month.

Maybe something to do with Flybe charging now to actually have a seat on the plane? You buy your ticket, but then you have to buy your seat too, WTF!?

It's just an option, if you want extra legroom, etc. You can pay no extra and just have your seat allocated when you check in.

More good news for the IOM director!

Im writing her speach now -

"Last month, May, is spelt using the least number of letters from the alphabet, so numbers were expected to be down on last years figures, because of some sort of strange event May was spelt with 5 letters making it the same as June and July last year.

Figures for the period are worked out using the 'lets make shit up and see if we can put a shine on it' rule. Somedays the airport was closed at night, leading to figures being less for the time we wanted to open it but could not. This is due to it being dark and everyone was at home in bed.

A number of operations were cancelled due to fog, rain, sleet, hail, and a slight breeze which would have had an effect on the airports through put for the period. At one point in the middle of the collection period for the data, 4 horseman with long pointy sticks were seen trying to land.

TT week, of course was in June this year, and a number of the passengers who used the airport last year did so in May then, so I would expect to see the figure for June to show an increase on last years May figures which displays an upbeat signal to all using the airport that things are looking good"
