Terse
Police are making door-to-door enquiries but have so far elicited few responses.
Jimcalagon
The police should show the victims photographs of local neer-do-wells to see whether any of them ring a bell.
Gilligan
I thought door bells are a rather permanent fixture, ot something that can be readily stolen.
BigDave
Pfft. Call that a prank? A decent doorbell prank would have been to wire them up to their next door neighbours.
La_Dolce_Vita
Is that one of the bells?
Evil Goblin
Pfft. Call that a prank? A decent doorbell prank would have been to wire them up to their next door neighbours. Yup, youngsters today have no imagination, have they? Different in our day!
cheesemonster2005
Now I see why Onchan police station was more-or-less closed several years ago if that's the work they currently have. I agree it's a pretty poor prank and they should try better next time.
Miss Roo
My mother in law had her doorbell nicked but she is in Douglas, not Onchan, so this crimewave is obviously more widespread than first thought! I agree with BigDave on this one, cant imagine the fun in stealing them but rewireing them to the neighbours I could be tempted to do that myself, well they do say laughter is the best medicine
x-in-man
My mother in law had her doorbell nicked but she is in Douglas, not Onchan, Bloody hell!, they must have stolen her house, moved it Onchan, taken the door bell off and moved it back. That's theft, criminal damage, TWOC and a hernia. Now THATS rare on the Isle of Man.
ruka
I thought door bells are a rather permanent fixture, ot something that can be readily stolen. Some doorbells are not wired in anymore. Like mine it sticks on the door and then the other part is plugged in (its called wireless) it is probably these they are nicking.
