mama
Now Germans bag sunloungers online...before they've even left home It is a sales ploy that appears to be the answer to a German holidaymaker's prayers. A travel firm is trying to tempt them with the chance to pre-book a sunlounger by the pool even before they leave their homeland. Thomas Cook is offering the dial-in-advance service for selected package holidays. sunloungers Guaranteed: German tourists can now pre-book their sunloungers online For just £2.60 a day, German tourists will get a guaranteed beach umbrella and lounger at the resort of their choice. Nine hotels have joined the scheme available on winter breaks booked in Germany for locations in Turkey, Egypt and the Canary Islands. The move comes at a time when Germans - battered by the economic downturn and fearful for their jobs - are holidaying at home in increasing numbers. A survey by a vacation trends company discovered that many of them are tiring of the behaviour of their more boorish countrymen on holidays abroad. Complaints include excessive drinking, noisiness - and monopolising the sunbeds. A spokesman for Thomas Cook insisted the sun lounger move was no publicity stunt but that it was tailoring its product to its customers.
bluemonday
Teutonic efficiency at its best A survey by a vacation trends company discovered that many of them are tiring of the behaviour of their more boorish countrymen on holidays abroad. Complaints include excessive drinking, noisiness - and monopolising the sunbeds. Are they challenging the British yet again?
Addie
Who wants to lie in a row like sardines in tins next to a stinky public pool anyway? Anyone ever seen those loungers being cleaned? Yuck! A spokesman for Thomas Cook insisted ... that it was tailoring its product to its customers. Says a lot about that company's customer base doesn't it? Travel independently. Go to Greece, take some beach brollies and find a beautiful cove to have all to yourselves.
