lisner
The Government planning people should be shot with a ball of their own crap, they don't give a runny poo if the island lost some more leisure facilities. As long as they keep up their level of licky licky brown nose with Dandara then thats just all cosey and nice for them.Who is responsible for this stupid decision? speak up now as I have a poo gun awaiting your poo! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And they get to put up more boxie flats mounted on top of each other along the Promenade ad infinitum. Take a look at the older hotels on what's left of Loch Promenade for example: Large ground floor rooms with carefully designed moulding features externally next floor not so high next floor a curved window to break up a stacked appearance in turn each floor's window gradually smaller. This gives an unobtrusive look and makes the building less imposing and top heavy looking. It provides us with the 'identity' of Douglas. What do our Planners do? Allow 'em to lash up as many modular aprtments as they can squeeze in. Compare the new and the old over at the far end by Paramount for example. The grand and interesting Four Continents building now dwarfed next to what is, well, a block of flats.
