Section 8

Spent the morning playing the beta of Section 8 (http://www.joinsection8.com/). It's fucking ace.

 

Things I love:

• Run for 5 seconds, and you get a 3rd person view of super-fast sprinting
  
• Hold down the jump key and you jetpack bounce across the map
  
• The drop in system works well; not as freefrom as the press have made it out to be, but it's still very useful
  
• Shooting is good fun, graphics are solid, nice perks / purchase systems in there too
  
• Takes about 15 mins to get the hang of everything, but you'll be playing it for far longer
  

 

Things I don't love:

• The announcer woman voice computer thing annoys the tits off me
  
• The weapons can feel a bit weedy
  
• The game auto-detects everything config-wsie to perfection (or it did for me); no messing with resolutions or gfx effects, it's all tweaked to perfection
